Sheriff Richard Mack Endorses Rob McNealy

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Sheriff Richard MackAURORA, CO, February 9th, 2010 – Rob McNealy, candidate for Colorado’s 6th Congressional District, is proud to announce that Constitutional crusader, Sheriff Richard Mack, endorsed him.

From his home in Arizona, Mack said “In this day and age, with our economy faltering, with the Republicans and Democrats giving out massive bailouts to banks and their Wall Street friends, government eroding our liberties and exceeding the scope of their true authority, we need someone in office who understands the Constitution and the principles of freedom our country was based on. Colorado’s 6th Congressional District (CD6) is fortunate to have Rob McNealy, a candidate who understands those principles. Rob McNealy is a true American, and that is why I proudly endorse Rob McNealy for Congress. Why would any citizen waste their vote on another tax and spend Republican or Democrat?”

In 1994 Sheriff Richard Mack filed a lawsuit challenging the Brady bill, to stop the federal government from forcing another unfunded mandate down our throats. He won a decision at the US Supreme Court on the issue of States’ rights. This suit catapulted him to national attention, with television appearances on the Donahue Show, Good Morning America, Crossfire, Nightline, CNBC, and SHOWTIME’S the AMERICAN CANDIDATE. He’s been featured on over 500 radio talk shows nationwide, ranging from G. Gordon Liddy and Charles Goyette to Derry Brownfield and Pat Buchannan. He has traveled the country extensively and has seen first hand the horrible side effects from politicians who have replaced the Constitution with their own political agendas and party platforms.

McNealy said, “As a long time fan of Sheriff Mack’s work and accomplishments, I am truly honored and humbled by this endorsement of me and my campaign.  It has really energized me.”

Why I Am Running as a Libertarian for Colorado’s CD 6

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

I have been asked recently why I am running for Colorado’s 6th Congressional District as a Libertarian, instead of as a Republican. Many have said that I would make a great GOP contender in a primary against the incumbent-that I am a great alternative to the typical big government career politician in office now. With the latter points, I do agree.

We hear every time the Republicans or Democrats lose the White House, that they need to “rebuild” the party, or that they “need to take the party back.” If the parties were doing the right thing to begin with, there would be no need to rebuild them. Over the last 100 plus years, regardless of the rhetoric, the parties have never been rebuilt into something that resembles a government that the Founding Fathers would feel comfortable with. Each election cycle, regardless of which party is in the White House, brings our Republic further and further away from the Constitution, and closer to some sort of statist or fascist government.

I am running for Congress as Libertarian because liberty and freedom are precious commodities, and we are losing them very quickly.

I am running for Congress as Libertarian because I feel that it’s the political party that best represents and will further the cause of liberty and freedom, and is most closely aligned with my personal political beliefs.

I am running for Congress as a Libertarian because I no longer believe the solutions to saving our country lie anywhere within the two party system.

I understand the challenges I face running as a third party. There are false stereotypes, the myth of the “wasted vote” and simply having to break old habits of pulling the lever (or pushing the button) for anyone with an R or D after their name, regardless of their ethics or principles. I understand the challenges, and I will meet them head on.   I have to.  Our families, children and country deserve people to step up.  The future depends on it.

I am running for Congress as a Libertarian.
